Guest guest
Hi, I too agree that there are NO good docs here for Cp or SOD. When it was first suspected that I might have SOD I was sent to Vanderbuilt Univ. I thought " Oh great, a world known hospital " ! Well, the hospital might have some very excellent docs there, but the one I was sent to didn't know that much about SOD and was a complete jerk. He tried to make me believe the attacks were all in my head, and so on and so on. Diagnosed me with IBS and sent me on my way. Stupid me went back to him 2 years later and told him that I was in the ER twice in one week with attacks, and he told me that there was nothing more he could do for me and he didn't have time for this. I then started to travel to Philadelphia PA (my home state), and saw a doc there for about 1 year. He did the sphincterotomy on me and found that my bile duct was messed up. Then I went back to him about 5 months later and he hadn't a clue as to why I was having pain again. So then, I found this yahoo group, and started to research Dr. Lehman in Indiana. I thought, what do I have to loose. So I went to him in March of this year and he found that my pancreatic duct had high pressure and that my symptoms sounded like CP. He did a sphincterotomy and ballooning on me and I had another attack while I was there. I spent 3 days in the hospital and then came home. He also found that I have celiac disease. Which if left untreated, can lead to intestinal cancer. I had alot of damage from that but I am feeling better from being on a gluten-free diet. So to my point, yes, if you can travel to Indiana, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lehman. I will never go to anyone else. He is kind, compassionate, informative, and speaks to you and not " down to you " . I couldn't have gotten better care anywhere else. I am very grateful that I found him. He is only a 5 hour drive from my home. I live about 1 hour south of nashville. If you want his number or address feel free to ask, or you can check the previous posts because his name comes up alot on this board. Many of us go to see him and some people travel a very far distance too. Hope some of this helps. Take care Kris in TN ps where abouts in Tn are you?
