my son's limited diet

regarding why my son who only eats applesauce & eggs sprinkled with

raisins: my son had the IGG elisa sage delayed allergy reaction test

done 10/31/06. we can now reintroduce the unsafe items on a limited

basis every 4 days and if he doesn't react we can add the item back

once per week so he won't build up antibodies. they told me to

reintroduce the unsafe items back one at a time every 4 days before

i add back the 1st item (as long as he has no bad reactions). the

problem here is that he doesn't like most of the foods on either

list. even on the safe list he refuses all fish, all veggies and

bananas. also, he did react to 2 of the items on the safe list

(apple cider (probably pottasium sorbate) and butternut squash).

unfortunately, butternut squash was about the only veggie he liked

but he got giddy and started acting drunk. i have tried to mix in

veggies into the pureed eggs but if he sees any green (even light

green) he pushes it away. i am not sure why he refuses bananas. we

added back orange juice this wk and will give reintro chicken 1x end

of the week so we are finally going to get a little more variety but

i am still in need of some ideas on how to trick him into eating

veggies. the following are the IGG test results from 10/31/06:

These foods must be avoided for 6 weeks:

beef, garlic, pork, cantaloupe, honeydew, pecans, codfish,

grapefruit, onion, carrots, lamb, salmon, flounder, chicken, orange,

turkey, clam, pear, string beans, casein, grouper, snapper,

swordfish, orange roughy, msg, zucchini

These foods are believed to be SAFE:

almond, apple, apricot, banana, basil, beet, broccoli, cabbage,

cashew, cauliflower, celery, cherry, chili pepper, cinnamon,

coconut, coffee, cola, crab, cranberry, cucumber, dill seed, egg,

ginger, grape, green pea, lemon, lettuce, lima bean, lobster,

mushroom, mustard, olive, oregano, peach, peanut, pineapple, pinto

bean, pumpkin, red pepper, safflower, scallops, sesame, shrimp,

sole, squash mix, strawberry, sunflower, tea, tomato, tuna,

turmeric, vanilla, walnut, watermelon

artichoke, asparagus, avocado, kidney bean, navy bean, wax bean,

BHA, BHT, blue #1, blue #2, blueberry, green #3, halibut, lime,

orange #8, black pepper, green pepper, peppermint, plum, polysorbate

80, red #40, red #2, red #3, saccharine, sorbic acid, spinach,

trout, yellow #10, yellow #5, yellow #6
