The doc I saw decided that I didn't have pancreatitis before he ever even saw me. (snip) as I mentioned Dr Cotton as the doc who diagnosed me, this Mayo doc's demeanor changed immediately as well as the way he treated me. Diane, I've heard other people say the same about the Rochester facility. It's strange, because Jax could not have been any smoother and efficient. Since there were so many people there, especially waiting to do bloodwork, it did seem as though you were only one of a big crowd. But they were so well organized that I never had to wait longer than about 10-15 minutes for anything, and they did tell patients not to show up earlier than 30 minutes before an appointment, just to avoid having all these people sitting around waiting. Since I got there a bit early for each appointment, I was actually in the office or in the lab having a blood draw at the actual time of my appointment. The DINK that you had sounded like he had a real superiority complex! Anyone who would question the dx of Dr. Cotton has got to have some kind of problem. Although I haven't gone to MUSC for myself, it doesn't mean I have any reservations about their knowledge and expertise......the docs at MUSC saved my sister-in-laws life back in 1998. My GI doc is a Mayo graduate, though, and knew Dr. Lange personally. I figured it was worth a shot, and would go back if it was ever necessary. How are you doing these days? Are you still on the intracathical (s.p.) pump? With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina State Rep.
