Brevard Hematology and Oncology Consultants Cytoxan Possible Side Effects Nausea and vomiting (6 - 10 hours after drug administered) - Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration - Small, frequent meals, avoid spicy foods Lowered blood counts - Drop in white blood cells (WBCs) - Increase chance of infection - Avoid people with colds, flu, etc. - Report temperature of 100.5 degrees, chills or sweats, or any symptom of infection (i.e. burning on urination, cough, etc.) to your doctor. - Maintain good skin and oral hygiene - Drop in platelets - May bruise or bleed more easily - Notify doctor of any unusual bleeding - DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN.
