Guest guest
hi all, im new here obviously..lol. our son silas is 2 and We got some Results back from the homeopathic doc yesterday.....Silas had a very bad yeast overgrowth in his intestines, the doc said he hardly has any good bacteria in his intestines and a abundance of the bad...so he is on some meds to kill off the yeast overgrowth..but he said he might need two rounds cause once yeast starts growing it is very hard to kill....we have to change his diet, he wants us to feed him whole foods only....his neurotransmitters are elevated.....and he is very very very low on folic acid and vitamin b-12 so we have to hive him shots in his bum....the prescription says we have 5 refills of the shots so i am guessing he will need quite a few.the doc put him on folinic acid, and the shots, and the med to kill of the yeast and child essence vitamins....and we are supposed to go on a dairy free diet for three days..Then to top it off, the gastro doc called and said his tyrosine levels are abnormally high....he said they are looking for a metabolic disorder, and i said what exactly and he said tyrosinemia type 1.... Tyrosinemia type I is a metabolic disorder in which an enzyme critical for the breakdown of the amino acid tyrosine is missing. This allows abnormal amounts of tyrosine to accumulate in the body and act like a poison causing damage, especially in the liver.......and the blood results we got back from the homeopathic doc showed a elevated liver function level and also this.... Diagnosis The symptoms the infant has, especially the liver problems, usually suggest a diagnosis of tyrosinemia type I. Blood tests of liver function will be abnormal. A urine test for succinylacetone is done; if it is present, it confirms the diagnosis. on his urine test his succinic acid was elevated into the yellow section..so needless to say i am very very very very worried now.....he wants us to go asap to get more blood work A fecal occult blood test (FOBT) is a non-invasive test to detect the presence of hidden blood in the stool (feces).he id doing that test and this one aPTT test measures the length of time (in seconds) that it takes for clotting to occur when reagents are added to plasma (liquid portion of the blood). Then he wants a ultrasound of his liver to see if it is damaged Then to top it off we go for a ph probe test on april 2nd, it has to be left in for 24 hours and we have to spend the night there, then the next morning they take the probe out and they are going to go a endoscopy with biopsy and thenin may he has a mri...so i have been very stressed about this..and not on here as much..i have no gunption to do anything....but i have to keep my mind working cause then i might just fall to peices...and that is not good either..and what in the world do you feed them...his new diet had to be made up of 25 % veggies and 25-335 protein and 25-33% starch....he hates veggies...he is soooooo picky..everything he does eat now he is no longer allowed to have so i don't know what to feed him sorry for babbling on and on Silas also has other problems, he has a gross motor delay and mixed expressive/recessive language disorder and unexplained fatigue and sensory issues he hates eating and is very very picky and is very very tiny for his age..the neurologist also said he saw early signs of aspergers..but who knows he is only 2....
