Guest guest
Kim, My diabetes is called " brittle " , and it's Type 1, making me totally dependent on insulin for survival. Mine, like 's, was caused by diabetic ketoacidosis, a condition where I was brought into the ER nearly in a coma, with a blood sugar reading of 1,000. It was later determined that my average blood glucose level for the past 3 months had been 868!! Although I'd been evidencing all the typical " symptoms " of diabetes for three months prior, I had a doctor who didn't believe it could yet be a threat, and had refused to test me. I'd only had CP for 20 months. A 190 post pradial reading is too high. As said, you should have had a reading between 80-120 to meet the criteria qualifying you as non-diabetic. You should discuss this with your doctor and ask that he do an HbA1c fasting bloodtest. This test will show what your blood glusoce readings have been for the last three months, and is the most accurate way of determining what your condition is.
