I actually recently purchased a mountain bike. For myself, I went with 18 gears, though our slopes are quite low. I love riding! My pain medication has decreased substantially. I have lost weight. My bowels are working better and more regular. I am happier. I am practicing Quantum Healing, and all the metaphysical healers make reference to the importance of keeping the human body moving. My experience watching the elderly admitted to the nursing home and the subsequent decline and early demise, I can tell you it was the abrupt lack of physical activity that was the critical precursor. I think that anyone with a chronic illness, particularly something as severe and all encompassing as pancreatitis, should be connected to a physical therapist or other physical energy healer. IMHO, if weight bearing activity or increased activity is too much, everyone should be doing some level of yoga or pilates. Keeping you in thought & prayer, Karyn E. , RN, Exec. Karyn, I certainly agree with you that maintaining some form of exercise is important. It's almost healing, in a way. Funny that you should mention pilates.....I just bought the first pilates tape and plan to start tomorrow. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina State Rep.
