Guest guest
Well, yet another friend with gut issues, and so I turn to those who I know have dealth with stuff like this before. My friend Gail has a six week old baby boy. Since about two or three weeks old, he has come to the point where he is never happy. He wakes up, and he cries. She nurses him, and he cries. He just cries all the time. For the past couple of weeks, he has diharea and occassional vomitting. Of course, the pediatrician is telling her that there is nothing wrong with him. Give me a break. Anyone with some common sense knows that it is not normal for a breast fed baby so young to be having chronic diharea and occassional vomitting and never being content. I've not dealt with this issue before, but here are my initial reactions. Mommy needs to change her diet. Of course, SCD would be ideal, but she at least needs to experiment with removing the starchier grains, potatoes, ect., and perhaps dairy. I also having the inclination that she should start giving him an acidopholus supplement. I have been told by my DAN dietician that I should open a capsule, and sprinkle the contents into my baby's mouth(when I have the next one). I would like to know if anyone else has dealth with this same type of thing. It seems that I've read posts similar to this. Please let me know what kind of diagnosis(if any) your child ended up with. Who did you go to, and what kind of testing was run? Just any info you can help me to pass on to Gail. She is definitely troubled by this, and doesn't believe that this is normal even though the pediatrician is telling her it is fine. Thanks for your help.
