Guest guest
Karla, I am 18 years old and I plan on having the surgery done. My family is very supportive, but I'm doing most of it on my own because they aren't very computer savvy. I am a senior in High school and I am very active in my Show Choir activities, yet I let my weight stop me from participating in a lot of activities. I've tried everything I know. I've always been over weight, yet I didn't let it bother me as a child. I played basketball, softball, and golf all my life, yet I quit them all because it got too hard. I'm working on my package. I hope to have surgery in January. I really wanted to have it in December, but I've been given the opportunity to sing at a professional hockey game twice in December so I decided to shoot for January. I would really like to talk to you or your daughter. You can e-mail me at Acoya@.... Acoya in TN pre-op BMI
Guest guest
Acoya: If you need a contact, just email me personally and ask me what you want to know. I'm so glad you're here. I was overweight since I was 7 years old. I went throught the pain of being an overweight teen...and because I understand what that was like, I'm so happy that you have found this site and are considering surgery. Guest guest
Thank you so very much for answering my message. My 15 year old daughter, will be 16 on 9-15-01. has been large all of her life. We have tried just about everything and she has lost about 20 pounds. Then she gains it back. I am just starting to reshearch the MGB and I am very interested in the teenage aspect. I would give anything for my daughter not to have to experience the pain of being overweight, she feels she is the only one out there with this problem. She is 5 feet 8 inches and the last time she would weigh was 1 year ago and she weighed 242lbs. then. It is very hard when kids do not want to be friends with a " fat girl " or never getting asked to a school dance. Only a overweight teen can really understand the pain these kids must endure. Acoya i really hope you will be able to have the surgery and I would love to follow your journey. I would really like to talk with teens that have had the surgery or plan to. Thanks for your response. Karla --- Acoya@... wrote: > Karla, > > I am 18 years old and I plan on having the surgery > done.
