Guest guest
Hello! I have a couple of questions so I'll give you some background first. My son is two and has been diag. with Leaky Gut. After reading the SCD site we cut out all starches/sugars etc. while we read the book and began our meals list. We started with the into. diet. My son refused to eat the soup and we did the into. for two days. That was two weeks ago. He is taking the Kirkman Acidophilus, L-Glutamine and Caprylic acid for the candida. (when he started Acidoph the very next BMs were liquid-for three days only) It took a few days to get all of my home cooking, juices etc. completely legal. We also started giving him the epson salts baths. I was really ready for some horrible die off symptoms. I don't think we have seen much. Here are my stool questions. He used to loose BM 7-10 times a day. Within the first days of no starch etc. he passed large mushy stools and sometimes completely liquid. Since the first 3-4 days of those, the BMs now remain 3 ish times a day and formed. And he's back to sleeping thru the night like his pre 'food' days of life. *But I noticed what looked like sunflower seeds sized food in the BMs. Is it possible that the large of amount of sunflower seeds that we used to eat are just now making an appearance? Since everything is cooked and legal, why am I still seeing pencil eraser sized bits in his BM? Even if it's food he's been eatting and nothing new added. Are we doing something wrong? I never inspected BMs of non leaky gut people before, is this normal? *After eatting really cooked carrots for dinner last night, his BM was full of little orange specs this am. So is that normal? Or are we needing to cut them out? Last question *If we make a roast for example and we don't give him the onions, celery, potatos etc. are the potatos going to 'contaminate' the foods he is eatting? I understand that we couldn't use illegal spices and expect the food he's eatting to be fine. So is the same true for the large illegals? Foods he's eatting-dairy & nut free for previous issues Eggs ripe Banana pancakes, honey, vanilla pure extract cooked Butternut squash, cinnamon (no filler) Boiled chicken, baked pork chops cooked Green beans(new as of friday) ripe avocados applesauce (made it myself) buffalo groud, steak etc. garlic, pepper, salt, olive oil cooked carrots welchs white grape juice cut with 1/2 water he recently snuck a couple bites of aspargus spears, appeared ok Thank you for your time and advice. :)Aimee son 2 yr, healing leaky gut, SCD 2 weeks
