Guest guest
, You sound like a very knowledgeable and supportive caregiver. That will be an important element for your husband's success, to have you there with him, being so supportive and informed. Through your research you'll learn a lot, and you sound wise enough to separate the material that's useful from that which is unnecessary. I suggest that you take a look at our pancreatitis library at: www.top5plus5.com/ This is a website developed by one of our members, Mark Armstrong, and there's probably more useful information, links and research on that one page than you could find anywhere else on the internet. Hopkins University also has an excellent website for pancreatitis and related problems. I can emphasize with your annoyance about feeling left out in the dark. Unfortunately, this is often the case, and I don't understand why doctor's are so tight to discuss the facts with their patients and family in situations like this. If you husband is happy with his gastroenterologist, consider yourselves fortunate, and get him more involved with your husband's care now that there's more going on. From the sounds of it, he's been a trouble-free, compliant patient until these latest problems developed, so your husband may not have even had enough time with this doctor to determine his strengths and or weaknesses. An earlier appointment with him now would not be an unreasonable request, so I hope he can get in to see him. I've been a Mayo patient, (in ville, FL.), and came home very satisfied and confident in their treatment and the Pancreatologist's analysis of my case. One of our other members was just out at the Clinic in Arizona, and was very satisfied with her experience there, also. It wasn't in my insurance network, either, so we did end up being billed $295 - for a CT-scan balance, but I still think it was worth it. Please let me know if there's anything more we can do to help you, or if you have any more questions. You can glean a lot of information just by reading through our archives, too. All you have to do is type in the subject matter you're interested in into the " Search Archives " box, and tons of information that's been discussed on that topic will come up. Please keep in touch, I'm curious to see what happens. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth Bluffton, SC South Carolina State Rep.
