Guest guest
Jen, As you already know, that means a blood glucose reading of 45 in the US. I'm glad the site was of use to you. I found several others, too, just so I can know what I'm talking about when discussing blood glucose levels with someone outside of the US. 45 is severly low, and I'm truly surprised that you didn't feel it. Anything under 70 is considered a hypo. When I'm that low I start seeing white spots in my eyes, feel light-headed and get " dumb " . One thing that hypo's, (and 45 is clearly a hypo......LOL!), do to me is make me act confused and unable to figure out the right things to do......I call it " diabetes dumb " when I get like that, fortunately it doesn't happen too often! In your case it may just have been from your lack of food and nutrition, but it's still very irregular and you should discuss this with your doctor. Some early diabetes testing would never hurt. The most definitive test is the HBA1c test, which is a fasting blood test, and this test will indicate what levels your glucose has been for the previous 2-3 month period of time. Because of what happened to me, I'm a real advocate of early diabetes blood testing. Can't help it, after what I went through. I know you don't even had an official dx of chronic pancreatitis, yet, but you've had so many problems and so much has happened in just a short period of time, that I personally lean toward finding out where you stand in that area. Talk to your doctor and see what he says. Maybe he will be enlightened enough to agree to the test. If the results show normal blood levels, it's just one less thing for you to worry about. Let us know what the doc says. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
