Guest guest
yesterday was the end of our 3rd week on this diet. for some reason, my daughter and i both seem to take precisely 3 weeks for any change to happen in our bodies. elaine says the same thing in BTVC. we just got back from traveling and we did cheat a couple of meals. i would say 90% compliance, and only two items were illegal, the others were just " too soon " . my daughter had diarrhea only 30 minutes after eating a corn tortilla. it was amazing to see how quickly and emphatically her body responds now. the amount of itching for each " cheat " item was really minimal. our bodies are really healing and learning to process these bad guys more quickly. i said i would give this diet 3 weeks, 4 weeks at most, before i made a decision about continuing. yesterday morning i looked at my daughter's eczema and somehow it had just cleared overnight. you would not know that she had bleeding, scabbed, raised eczema patches there once. it's also been a great experience, to learn how to cook veggies (we didn't eat many of these before), and balance meals. even if we didn't have the eczema, we are still so much healthier today with our new eating lifestyle. i also discovered on this trip that sweets just don't taste as good as they used to (too sweet). it's all good news so far and i just wanted to share in case there are some newbies out there who are thinking of trying SCD and need some encouragement. silvia 2 yo daughter with eczema, SCD 3 weeks
