Hi,

I have been on SCD for about 1 month. I have IBS, and have had it

since I was a child. I had always known about my lactose intolerance,

my mom used to feed me goat milk as a child.I do not have D, I suffer

from chronic C, if I eat grains my abdomen swells and I look

pregnant. I was also morbidly obese. I lost 50 pounds on Weight

Watchers. W.W. advised all whole grain products. Not knowing my

sensitivity to grains, I complied. I would gain 3 pounds overnight

due to intestinal swelling. I finally did an elimination diet,

discovered my gluten intolerance and changed to gluten free/dairy

free diet. I was devastated when the gluten free products had the

same bloating effect on me. Now I am on SCD and I look great, I still

need to lose another 45 pounds, but I am not swollen. I get

compliments on how much younger I look (I'm 44). My joints stopped

hurting and the headaches are almost all gone, I was taking ibuprofin

by the handful I was in so much pain. I can function now. My doctor

finally discovered I was hypothryroid, now after a month of SCD the

lab results say I am hyperthyroid. I have an appointment to adjust my

meds. By the way all my blood work came back within normal ranges for

celiacs, and food allergies. Now that you know a little about me here

is where I need some help:

1) I am counting calories, could someone please tell me the

nutritional information from a purchased bag of almond flour? I

website I use to journal my food and type in all my SCD recipes only

has the nutritional info. on whole raw almonds. I weighed the ground

almonds before baking and have been using this, but it might not be

accurate. Right now the carrot muffins have 225 calories each and the

banana muffins are about 239 calories each.

2) My DD(5) is very lactose intolerant. I keep her lactose free, as

long as she doesn't trade lunches at school. Now she has tummy aches

almost every day. Should I bother talking to her doctor about testing

her for celiac's? She just had 11 cavities filed too and complains

about not sleeping well. She also suffers from C and had to go to the

hospital when we thought it was her appendix but it was a mass of poop

( x-rays).

Thank you very much. I read all the posts, and love the recipes.
