Guest guest
Hi Jon, Firstly, I would agree that you go see a pain management doctor. There are plenty of pain meds that can help to get the pain under control. Secondly, is your doctor a GI? If he isn't I would be getting in to see one to determine why and try and fix the reason. If he is ask him to find out why and help you, and if the answer is no or any negative response, then I would be getting a new one. I myself have been seeing an holistic practitioner who also uses acupuncture for treating many disorders and problems (not for pancreatitis now, but for tumour pain) and it is unbelievable how much that has helped. Also, I was getting very depressed about my condition and the guilt and everything else was just piling on top of me, so I started seeing a psychologist just to talk to someone about it who didn't know me from Adam, and could perhaps let me see some light at the end of the tunnel that I was missing and also because the more I tried to talk to my husband..well I didn't want to burden him with the mental stuff I was going through. The program I got into was treating depression with cognitive and behavioural changes and it has helped me immensely. It won't cure our illnesses, but it can help to deal and live with it better.
