Hello to you all.

I am back from a warm and wonderful sdale, AZ. I have to say

that I am totally impressed with the Mayo Clinic, the people, the

doctors and the whole system. My consult lasted way over an hour

with Dr. Das, who just had moved from the Cleveland Clinic. He was

very honest and open with me. Unfortunately, my insurance granted me

the consult, but would not allow for any testing or labs. That was a

little frustrating. I guess the good side to that was, I wasn't in a

drugged induced state with every test they wanted to do, instead I

got to see sdale and Phoenix and enjoy the nice warm weather. I

will have an MRCP and I plan to have that sent back to Dr. Das for an

official reading. I have several other tests, which I will either

have done here where I live or go to University Hospital in Denver to

get them done.

Bottom line, I have CP, and there isn't much more I can do about it.

All the life changes to avoid acute flares and extra pain days are

already in place. At least I know that I have done all I can to

slow/stop the pain, and I feel that it was a good decision to go to

Mayo. Honestly, it will get my family (Dad, Mom, Aunts, Uncles) and

others who believe that Mayo is the " cure all " off my back. I have

heard for over 4 years that I need to go to Mayo and I will be

fixed. Well, I knew all along that Mayo wouldn't exactly heal me,

but maybe it would heal them to know that they directed me there and

I have gone to " the authority " now. Does that make sense? I am

really glad that I went. A weight is off my shoulders now, as I made

it without lots of pain and vomiting while traveling...in fact I felt

pretty good.

That is my two cents worth on Mayo. Oh, one more thing. I was the

youngest person in that whole place...I really stuck out like a sore

thumb! I suppose 34 years old is young compared to the 65-80 year

olds that sat in the Gastro section of Mayo Clinic. Sad thing is...I

felt older than some of those people...life time of pain experience?

Hope you are all having a pain free day.

Hugs,

Suzi B.

Colorado
