Guest guest
Hi there! I was wondering if anyone in the mountain view area has experimented with any of the vietnamese etc. noodle restaurants on Castro Street. I've been tempted to try, especially since some of the noodles appear to be made of rice, but I'm a bit paranoid. Also, I don't eat meat or chicken, so many of the menu items are ruled out right there. Any experiences with safe rice noodles and restaurants in Mountain View or the greater bay area? I've also heard rumors about chinese dumplings made from tapioca etc. Any pointers/ recommendations about this? Recommendations on specific restaurants and menu items would be especially exciting! I am one of those lucky people who has violent vomiting as a reaction some 3 1/2 hours after consuming gluten, so I'm a little leary of cuisine types I'm not familiar with- (i usually rely on Japanese, Indian, or Thai restaurants)... BTW if you haven't tried it, the frozen breads and pizzas at Global Blends on Castro in Mountain View are really handy when you're too busy to bake- and it is way too fun to have one of their melted cheese toasties in the coffeeshop as well. Has anyone heard anything about the location of the new Whole Foods in Mountain View? It's supposed to be on El Camino but I don't know where or when, and I totally got the brush off from them when I emailed inquiring for more details. *sniffle* I wish they'd move here tomorrow!
