Guest guest
I have been doing a good deal of studying of CCK and its affects on the pancreas. This link would be a great informational link to keep for the digest: http://arbl.cvmbs.colostate.edu/hbooks/pathphys/endocrine/index.html. I also read a study in 1993 based out of Japan of 113 hospitals for a year tried a CCK derivitative and cut the symptoms in half for pancreatitis. There has been so much research done on CCK within the last 10-15 years. If I am reading the journals correctly if you are producing too much CCK it could be from CP? This link is from a message board that explains a theory of CCK and CP in layman's terms: <http://www.heartburn-help.com/MessageBoard27/_disc7/000003a0.htm> http://www.heartburn-help.com/MessageBoard27/_disc7/000003a0.htm. I have two questions that I feel would be a great conversation/ research beginning to assist in some proactive treatment so please answer even if you haven't participated much with the boards before. 1. Has anyone heard of CCK or had any medications given that were CCK related? (I don't think there is anything FDA approved in the USA for treating CP, but I have only focused on the one drug I could find so far that is a derivative of CCK, the one given in Japan that so drastically reduced symptoms. They did have this drug in clinical trials in the US for a short time. However you may be/have taken it unknowing for other symptoms such as the Xanax the person mentioned on the message board above.) 2. Also has anyone been to see an endocrinologist ever? Thanks for your time in answering these 2 questions. Maybe we can push up the clinical trials on it, or push FDA approval through government if we can find out some more info into it, and provide some comfort for us all. Guest guest
I also found this link for hormone testing, i.e. for CCK levels. http://www.interscienceinstitute.com/ Would it help anyone with knowing they received accurate tests for pancreatic function? I'm sorry I can research so much, but have difficulty transferring it from that. I also wanted to mention that there is a test they do a lot for gallbladder function which they give a form of CCK, but the CCK I am speaking of has to do an actual medicine, I think they refer to it as a CCK antagonist, in which they give for different symptoms. <http://www.interscienceinstitute.com/>
