Guest guest
Hi folks, I realize this question of legal juices has been discussed quite a bit. But, I'm hoping I can add a comment and ask a question. Again. Our son, due to the high phenols in grape and orange juice, can't drink these while on SCD. It tooks us some time to finally realize what the proble was, but we observed irritability/hyper activity with both Welches 100% grape and Tropicana Regular Orange Juice. Both were diluted a great amount with filtered water. He drinks a lot of juice/water though, through the day. Not sure what is causing him to increase his liquid intake to this extent while on the SCD. We would perfer he just drink filtered water and we're working on it but haven't had great success to date. We also need a " vehicle " to get in the many supplements we give him daily. I've gone round and round and, like others on the list, found pear juice to be substantially less in phenols. Knudson's Organic Pear Juice lists its ingredients as: Juice from ripe, whole organic pears, ascorbic acid (to maintain color). That''s it. Sounds legal to me but... I have a call into the company but hoped to get comments while I'm waiting (and trying hard to steer our son away from oj or grape juice. Thanks! Contains 100% Juice Serving Size: 8 FL. OZ.
