Disturbed by hubby's upper chest

Howdy,

I'm the wife of someone recently diagnosed with RP.  I noticed this morning (and in recent days) that my husband's chest was red like it was irritated or he had been scratching it.  I asked him about it.  He said that is what it is supposed to look like when the disease is active.  Well, this is disturbing because it just seems like those stupid steroids aren't doing a darn thing.  It bothers me that it is all around his throat.

I am hoping to hear more medical input about his disease this week.
