Guest guest
Patti, I can see that coconut is an advanced food because of the fibers in the coconut. However, what about Tropical Traditions' coconut cream? I have been using it as a base for a smoothie drink, but found out how good it actually tastes, just by itself. Recently I have let have several tablespoons of it a day out of the jar, in addition to using a tablespoon or two in the drink. Would the coconut cream be OK, do you think? There doesn't seem to be fiber in the cream. I probably am giving him maybe 4-5 tablespoons total per day, but all at one time as I prepare the drink and then the drink itself. mom to , age 18 yo, SCD 7 months but still doing early diet Coconut oil should be fine to add to foods, in modest amounts.... as a supplemental and calorie source. It also has antifungal properties. Some will be able to digest fats better than others. Frying foods in it, or in other oils, may render the foods more difficult to digest, as Kim has said. Coconut is an advanced food..... meaning dried, shredded coconut. For families who need a " milk like " drink or smoothie base, Elaine okayed coconut milk, as long as it's homemade, even for those who are fairly new to the diet. Wait much longer to introduce shredded coconut, as it is too fibrous. Patti --------------------------------- Be a PS3 game guru. Get your game face on with the latest PS3 news and previews at Yahoo!
