Guest guest
Anyse, Sorry that you had such a frustrating and worthless visit to the ER. You could go on a liquids-only diet for 4-5 days without too much harm. I have had to do that in the past when the pain was just too much to deal with, and many of us resort to doing that when nothing else is working. Try to drink gatorade or something like that that will give you some additional vitamin supplementation. If you can handle more than clear liquids, drink low-fat Ensure, Boost or Slimfast. Green tea is also excellent for you, it has antioxidants in it, and is quite soothing. The site you were asking about is: www.top5plus5.com/ That's Mark's pancreatitis website that has all that good information. Although I love praise......lol.....It was Karyn that came up with the idea for the PAI card for doctors, and I agree, it sounds like a good idea. Can you talk to your doctor about admitting you for a couple days for complete gut rest? While I doubt that he'll do it, it would work faster than trying it at home, but usually doctor's are reluctant to agree to this unless the patient is in really dire condition. I hope you can get this settled down soon. It's horrible to be in that much pain and not be able to even handle the medication to make it better. Keep us posted on how you're doing.
