Dear Lnd,

I'm sorry that I have been so late in responding to your questions. I have

carpel tunnel syndrome, in addition to my CP and diabetes, which has

exacerbated itself fiercely this past week, in addition to a CP flare up, so

I've

been dragging along, instead of my usual activity where I make daily visits to

the message board. Using the keyboard on my computer is very difficult

when my CTS is aggravated, and I've had to stay away from it for a while.

The story about your son is very sad, yet as time goes on he should be able to

control his CP easier. If he doesn't make any significant progress with this,

he

may be a good candidate for a total pancreatectomy with auto islet transfer.

Has anyone ever suggested this? A successful TP-with auto islet transfer

would rid him of the pancreas problems forever, and restore his good health.

It's so distressing to see someone so young, having achieved the storybook

arrangement with his life and family, be afflicted with this disease. It's not

medically described as a disease, but the word " condition " just doesn't seem

to be a strong enough description of CP, which can progress and transform a

healthy, strong individual into a disabled person in a matter of years. How it

affects us varies with each of us.

I hope this camera test will reveal something that they can work with to

improve your son's problems. It may be that he needs stenting for an

obstruction, or that there's something there that is causing his continual pain

that can be surgically corrected. He will be in my prayers, as well as you and

all of the family.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
