Hello, New guy, same bad pancreas

Hello, my name is Mike Randall, I live in Columbus OH, I'm 37 male,

married with 2 kids, boy 7, girl 5, married 12 years. I got sick in

93', first thought to be alcohol related, I told them I was not a big

drinker, unknown to me my GI thought I was lying. After a week in

hospital, released but pain never went away completely, I asked for

more pain meds, he gave them to me at first, then it was very hard to

get even a few pills a month, even though the pain was intense. I

found out later he thought I was faking to get more pills. Well

after a couple years and several more hospital stays, MANY different

tests and other things they said were wrong with me, my mother (A

nurse) made me goto Cleveland Clinic. MY GOD!!!!!!! The last test I

took here in Columbus was a scan with the stuff you drink to show up

in the pancreas. It showed only half thru my pancreas. My docs said

I didn't drink the stuff, thats why it just stopped there. After 5

minutes in Cleveland, and the scan my docs did " where I didn't drink

the liquid " he said I had a sctricture(sp?) and since it was there so

long, the stuff in the pancreas destroyed 3/4 of the pancreas with

the rest scarred badly, the spleen ruined, so they removed them both

plus the gall bladder, 2 weeks in hospital. I'll try to shorten the

rest up. 2 more operations, one experimental(didn't work) a long

fight with disability(I won after 3 years) and several weird

infections and many hospital trips a year and here I am. I currently

take methadone to control pain, sugar is fine so far, knock on wood.

Sorry for the long post. Also Pain every minute,lol, about 4-6 on

the 10 scale, but I'm making it!!!
