Guest guest
GrandmomBEV, That is great about BeckyB! My heart & prayers are going her direction. I did find out that most Wal-Mart stores will assist people in her type of situation. The store manager in her area should be contacted and arrangements made for her to use the money collected to buy what she needs for her new home---at a very large discount. I can call them when we know a more definite date and her location so we can determine the nearest Wal-Mart to her. It is also possible I may be able to round up some stuff from around here and take to her when she gets into her home. We have a small pickup truck or can borrow a larger truck, if needed. Are there appliances or will she need them? I assume she needs livingroom & bedroom furniture (and bedding). I need clothing sizes and shoe sizes (baby sis is footwear mgr. at K-Mart). If anyone in the Birmingham area has anything to send to her, I can collect items here and store in my basement until she gets moved, if they want to bring them here. We live about an hour from Birmingham and hour and half from Atlanta. Becky B has been here online for so many of us, so many times. She is part of our family and I am so glad everyone is willing to help her out in such a hard time for her. If you have ever lost everything you own or been uprooted from a seemingly wonderful life then you can only begin to understand what she is going thru. Only with a group as wonderful as this will she find some peace of mind and a lot of understanding. Love to all of you great people on this list and your families, too.
