HI , justing getting back frome the hospital. Still waiting(its

been 15 days now.) for them to send my daughter kristy to Dallas

which will be monday. they had to put a central line in a couple

days ago I guess they got tired of using her as a pin cushion .She

has been stuck 30 times during this stay. But she's used to that and

it doesn't bother her anymore. This makes her 6th central line.

(since June) They have her on TPN now and have to check her blood

sugar every 6 hrs. first they said it was too low so they put

something else in the TPN and now its around 150 they said that was

ok. Then tonight they put her on a heart monitor because they said

her electrolytes were low on magnesium.(i think thats the one)She

told the dr. that she feels like she is getting worse .He cant even

touch her stomach. when the pain meds wear off ..her pain is more

intense. Can they not leave a stent in?? , or does it HAVE to come

out? She's at the point where she don't know if its better to keep

putting the stents in and going through all this or just get rid of

the pancreas altogether. I do worry about her staying on demerol for

so long. I didn't realize it could cause seizures . I always thought

it was a step down from dilaudid and morphine. So I thought we were

safer from things like that.Which I know we will have to go through

withdrawls and I hate that because she had such a rough time of it

last time off of dilaudid. If anyone has any input on withdrawls of

demerol and how bad it might be. I'd love to hear from ya. Or

anything else about the pancreas for that matter. Thank you so

much...deedee
