One thing I don'tmiss...

Is hoping when I see a doctor that I will be believed about the pain,

even though my level haven't gone up(Ama and Ly) and no other outward

signs are present. Anyone else feel this way? How many times have

the ER tried to send you home with asprin and a pat on the back? Or

done some other type of scan, test, procedure. Now I understand CP

is nasty little bugger to find, understand, and pain is subjective,

can't draw blood to find your pain level, and the many people who

want drugs to get high ruin it for the rest of us who really need it.

Heck, most times I don't like even talking about my meds or the doc

were I get them from because a part of me is scared someone will take

them away from me, and without it, my life would be intolerable. I've

had Rx people tellme I'm taking too much pain meds, which I called in

on them and got one fired for it, none of their business, I feel bad

enough without their opinion. Thank goodness I found a great doctor

(Dr. Warren Wheeler, cancer and pain doc, not good on the real name,

oncol something gist), then he closed due to rising costs, but still

is the main pain doc at my hospital Riverside Methodist columbus OH)

he is on the leading edge of pain management, teaching doc's to give

the meds if people on pain, addiction isn't a problem when used for

pain. Also since I am admitted several times a year, the ER doc's

know me well, most of the time they will tell the resident to give me

what I want and admit me WITHOUT doing any other procedures except an

IV and blood test. I'll talk to Dr. Wheeler and my GI about what to

do the next day. Now I have my family Doc write my methadone once a

month, and its up to me if I want to change dosage up or down. Very

lucky now, but it took 13 years. Thanks for letting me vent here,

this issue is what bugs me the most, not believing my pain is real

since all the test prove it.

Mike

PS_ Last CT scan the resident said my spleen was enlarged and my

pancreas looked great- I have no spleen and only 2/5th of the

pancreas left,lol.

Rambling off...
