Thanks so much for your reply. You don't know how glad I am that I

ran across this message board. I felt so alone with the diagnosis

of Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction then to have Chronic Pancreatitis

thrown on top of it!! The reason for not treating the CP right away

is that it has been hard to tell which pain I am experiencing

everyday....the sphincter spasms or the pancreatic attacks. I think

I have both but they are so similar in the pain scale (you know 1-10

and mine being 12) that the Mayo docs wanted to try treating one at

a time. First treating the pressure in the bile duct and seeing if

the sphincter spasms go away then later on treating the

pancreatitis. If both were treated at the same time he wouldn't

know which worked for which problem. I know I will have to be

treated with enzymes and a low fat diet. He told me that much, but

not any specifics at this time as to how much fat intake I should

have. I have been lowering my fat intake already but not as much

probably as I should.

Again thanks for your reply and your very warm welcome!!!!

Zoie
