Guest guest
Just to clarify for all: yes, without grains, is eating some more green and yellow veggies, but not that much. Years ago, before he was finally treated for hypothyroidism, that was one reason his pedi gave for not being concerned about his hands, feet and neck being very deep yellow, but his thyroid levels showed normal. Finally, after several years and his gradual deteriation, I began treating him myself with my Armour thyroid and even the teacher at school saw a big improvement. At that point, his pedi tested him and even with the Armour thyroid, his level was low normal, so he finally put him on it. When we went back to a grain diet, the yellow diminished. It is NOT just eating more green and yellow veggies. I guess I am posting this to see if anyone else has noted this for their kid. I have seen posts on other lists about this same thing. It seems to be assoc. with getting off grains (the first time he turned yellow, he was just gfcf and not grain free). Hope the genetics doc has heard about this and has some ideas. I don't think it is JUST hypothyroid because getting Armour thyroid & /or T3 should have corrected the problem. , mom to , age 18 ASD, SCD 9/06 --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons.
