I started fighting with Cigna in February. I lost every battle. I

hired a lawyer and still lost. I complained to the NC insurance and

still lost. It seems that when there is an exclusion, and it is an

HMO or PPO they can stick to to and will not budge. Now if your plan

is a company funded plan and Cigna is just the administrators of the

plan, your company can overrule the denial. Mine was an HMO. I am

changing plans during open enrollement and going with a company

funded plan. I have already been advised that this surgery will be

covered under my new plan. Find out what kind of plan you have,

there have been others with Cigna who were approved. Dr. R. has a

great appeal letter he'll send you for your appeal. , Denver, NC
