Guest guest
Dear Kimber, My Insurance paid for my machine and pays for the supplies, My Md wrote a note to the insurance company stating that due to my panc problems, I had alot of problems eating, therefore he had alot of problems regulating my coumadin. He felt it could be regulated best from home because I do it so much. My machine is called a Protime machine. There are other brands but this is the one my Md recommended. The web site is www.hometestmed.com. They will help you process all the necessary paperwork in order to get it approved by your insurance. They are great. It is right on with my Mds machine. I have to take it into my cardioligists office every 6 months and test it against his machine. Or if my levels get totally wacked out for no unusual reason. The we have to test the machine to be sure. But I love it. Was such a pain to go 2 and 3 times a week for testing. Now I test before leaving for work and call in the results. They call me back with any adjustments. Works great. Love, W
Guest guest
, I'll look into the machine and if my coumadin clinic is willing to pay for it, though my levels are usually pretty stable and I only have to get my bood tested every 2 weeks or so, though occassionally it gets messed up like it did this week. My blood was way tooo thin and I was told not to take my coumadin Mon and Tues. and I have to go back in one week from Monday to test again. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
