Guest guest
I noticed my daughter would sleep much better with it pretty cold in the house. I would be freezing, yet she seemed more comfortable and slept better. She also slept in a onesie. I would think his body temp would even out now, but I bet he would wake up more often if he was too warm. Just a thought. Good luck. > > Hello. > > I am new to this group. Guest guest
Is he upset when he's banging his head? My son does that sometimes, especially on hard surfaces, because he thinks the sound/sensation in fun. The louder the " bang " , the better! He'll see something and, instead of tasting it like most babies, he'll bang it with his helmet to see what happens. The only other thing I can think of is, are you sure you're not putting it on too tight. You're not supposed to pull the velcro at all. My husband did that a couple times when we first got the helmet, and it irritated my son. For falling back asleep at night, does he have a " transition object " like a small stuffed animal or blanket square? If not, you could start teaching him to snuggle a new one as he falls asleep. Some babies are able to use this to put themselves back to sleep at night. My son actually used his as a pillow when he first got his doc band, and it helped him sleep. Just don't put anything big in the crib because you don't want him to smother on it! Also, I used to have a lullaby cd that I would turn on when my son woke in the middle of the night (pre-band), and sometimes that was enough to get him back to sleep. Guest guest
Hi Ami- my daughter has been in hers for slightly over 2.5 weeks now. She's had 2 adjustments, but there were 10 days between the 1st and 2nd adjustments because we were away. About 5 days before going for adjustment #2 she started sleeping horribly and pulling at her helmet a lot. We brought her to adjustment #2 and sure enough it was too small, her head had grown 1 cm and she needed a growth adjustment done to the helmet. Since the adjustment she's been sleeping normally again. So it could be your son's is either on too tight (like someone else suggested) or the fit is too small or maybe his head has grown since they initially measured and made the helmet for him? I thought the helmet must be bothering her but doubted myself because it had only been 5 days since her last adjustment... but sure enough, they grow VERY fast at this age! It wouldn't hurt to have him looked at again to ensure the fit is proper and that you guys aren't putting it on too tightly. Good luck! I hope you figure it out and start getting sleep again soon!! le > > Hello. > > I am new to this group. My son is 6 1/2 months and has been in the Starband > for 1 month.
