Guest guest
I thought I'd share the results of an experiment I tried today. Let's just say, " YUMMY!!! " Ok, here's what I did: Banana Custard 2 1/2 cups homemade goat yogurt 1/3 cup honey 5 eggs, separated and beaten 3 teaspoons vanilla 2 tablespoons melted butter 2 bananas 1.) separate eggs, beat egg whites until stiff 2.) combine egg yolks, melted butter, honey, vanilla, yogurt, and 1 banana in a blender - blend until smooth 3.) gently add slices of the other banana, and fold in egg whites 4.) pour mixture into a deep, buttered glass bowl 5.) place glass bowl inside a pan filled with water, and bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. And, there you have it! Delicious custard. The only problem is, I had about an inch of watery stuff in the bottom of my glass bowl. I'm not sure if there was a problem with the yorgurt, or what. After I drained out some of the water my dessert was perfect. (Suggestions? Ideas?) Guest guest
I would lower the temp to 325 for any egg dish that I bake in the oven. Might have to cook longer, but eggs don't like to go above that temp.... and you'll get that effect. patti Banana Custard Recipe The only problem is, I had about an inch of watery stuff in the bottom of my glass bowl.
