Guest guest
Hi , We also came with sensitivities to phenols and casein. My daughter could not tolerate the enzymes either. If you are like us, hopefully as the gut disbiosis resolves these strange allergies and sensitivities will resolve too. IN Elaine's book she explains how many of these strange sensitivities are caused by the bad gut flora. See page 54 to 55. For us this was the case. We can now tolerate foods high in phenols. It took time thought. At first we avoided large amounts of these foods. This was the only way to avoid the rash and tantrums that resulted. We also rotated foods the best we could. Trying to be mindful of the foods that add up to causes a reaction. To calm us, and help with the toxins, we soaked in baths with Epson salts, and took Activated Charcoal (one hour before and one hour after meals). This helped, during this transition. To get our gut flora back into balance we did introductory diet for a minimum of two days, and tried our best to eat foods that where not too hard to digest. The stages at www.pecanbread.com<http://www.pecanbread.com/> (under food preparation) are helpful guidelines. We also found it important to use the goat yogurt. I found that this food was magic for us. We came casein intolerant and terrified of this yogurt, but seem to be able to tolerate this special yogurt. If you are not using it, you may want to try it. Some have to build up slowly to avoid die off reactions, that are often mistaken as food intolerance to it. Hope this helps. Remember that the tortoise wins this SCD race and not the Hare. When we jumped to too advanced foods we paid. Eating easy to digest foods, was actually the majority of the battle. Good luck!
