Guest guest
Kris, I had major abdominal surgery as you know 3 weeks ago, and a CT Scan yesterday (due to unexplained pain) showed that I too have 2 pockets of fluid in my abdomen near where they operated. One is small towards the left of my incision, the other one is about the size of a persons hand to the right of my incision. The doctor thinks this could be a reason for my pain, but as it is the pain is further towards my side and back than where the fluid is. They told me that antibiotics should dry the fluid up (I am on Cipro), but if not then they would have to exasperate??? the fluid (stick a needle in and drain it out). Problem with this is that it could cause contamination and lead to an infection which I sure don't want. I would be calling the doctor back and asking to speak with him. Or get in to see your family doctor at least if you don't get anywhere with your surgeon or his nurse.
