Guest guest
Finally got our pooh and urine results from the Doctor. Turns out Gavin doesn't have leaky gut or yeast overgrowth according to his tests. She recommended the GFCF diet, because he did turn out to be allergic to both as well as bananas and wheat. Also had some amino acid deficiencies (2), producing limited Folic acid, he's producing no bifidus and she said he had a bacteria called Clostridia. I saw that on another post somewhere saying if your child was not responding the SCD or having severe regression, you might want to have him tested for Clostridia. Wondered if anyone else found out they have this? She gave me sooo much information, I am still in overload trying to understand it all. We just came back from South Carolina for christmas and the diet fell through the last few days, he had a few cookies, Papa 's pizza and bread and several pieces of bacon. I was expecting diarehha, but instead got dark colored, hard pooh. I am going to try to keep him on SCD, with the exception of letting him have some GFCF chips/pretzels and spaghetti noodles. He would only eat cheese chips for snack and as we were in the doctors office he was eating some and she said no more of that- he's allergic to them. So being able to have what he thinks are real chips has given my mind a rest, even if they are $4 a bag. Wanted to know if anyone else has run into something similar to my situation, starting SCD and finding out there was no leaky gut. Reading some of the details in the results makes me think something still in fact is going on in his gut. I am confused about the difference in not having leaky gut and " not having good flora " in the gut. OOHH so much to figure out..... If he didn't have leaky gut, why did his behaviors get worse once we started the diet? becky Son 3 years old ASD SCD 1 month
