Guest guest
Hi all. For those who don't know about me here's a brief rundown. I'm 27 and in July of 2003 I started getting pain in upper left quadrant. Eventually the pain turned chronic, along with constantly elevated lipase, nausea, sweats and diarhhea. I've had every test known to man, and numerous hospitilizations and the only thing they have found is i've got pancreas divisum. However in repeating the MRCP 2 months ago they found sludge and stones in my gall bladder. This was confirmed today by ultra sound. My surgeon has told me that the pain I have is unrelated to gall bladder, since it is constant and in the upper left quadrant. He is not even sure if he'll remove the gall bladder. I meet with him on Oct 7 to discuss this. I'm wondering could after all this time it have always been gall bladder causing my pain? And if I have stones why did they not show up on ultra sound last Sept and MRCP in december? I don't want to get my hopes up that if they remove my gall bladder i'll feel better, but at the same time I would love it if it was this simple. I would appreciate any input. Thanks, Jen.
