Guest guest
How long has he been on SCD? Most children that come to SCD having been casine free before hand wait a month or two into the diet before trying dairy products. You should definitely start with goat products. You can start with the 24 hr. homemade goat yogurt. Some parents are concerned that they wouldn't be able to distinguish whether poor behavior, stool changes, ect. would be due to the dairy intolerance or new die off reaction from the good flora in the yogurt. So, some parents opt to start with a small amount of legal goat cheese or to use the homemade yogurt in a cooked food. The good bacteria is killed by the heat, so they would be comfortable knowing that a bad reaction was due to the dairy intolerance. Hope this is helpful. Meleah was GFCF, now SCD, still need to do GFCF I was reading the list of legal/illegal items on the BTVC site and it listed numerous cheeses. My son has been GFCF for nearly 2 years, can I give him the specified cheeses or should I keep away?
