Guest guest
Andre, just got your msg. My daughter and hubby were home for the weekend and then Sunday night I ended up with a panc attack and just got home from the hospital today. As for what caused the cubital tunnel syndrome for me, I think it was a combination of things. I have systemic lupus, which causes inflammation in the connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, etc. So, that automatically puts me at higher risk for problems with things surrounding joints and so on. Because of the inflammation, I just don't have as much space for the various nerves, tendons, ligaments, etc. so they can become inflamed, damaged, torn, etc. a lot easier than in a person who doesn't have the inflammation throughout their body like I do. Also, I think years in college taking mega notes, doing homework, etc. with my elbows bent helped cause the damage. Then my years as a systems analyst working at a computer all day, every day, again with elbows bent, added to the problem. I don't think mine had anything to do with having cp. I wasn't diagnosed with cp until June 2003. I think I had the ulnar nerve surgery in Dec 2000, so it was after I started having acute panc attacks. I had my first 'documented' acute attack in January 2000, but the attacks at that time were not bad enough to have much impact on my nutritional status. I have had surgeries for the following that are in part related to the inflammation that lupus causes around my joints torn cartillage in my right knee torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders-surgery on the left shoulder two times, right shoulder one time torn cartillage in my right wrist left hip for severe trochanteric bursitis and to lengthen the ilio-tibial band which runs from the outside of your hip down to your knee bone spur removed from the joint of my big toe on my right foot ulnar nerve release on my right arm By the way, after the right ulnar nerve surgery, my left arm/hand got better and I don't have any problems with either hand now. Good luck with your recovery. You should be well past the worst part now. W
