Guest guest
Lemon Balm is a plant. You should be able to buy it at your local nursery. It has jagged edged leaves and smells like lemon. It has mild anaesthetic properties in it, and they are released when boiled. I found information on it when I had planted 4 small seedlings of it. If one has it in hot tea, it will give off a lemon flavour. It does tend to take over the garden. I have it growing everywhere now, even in the lawn. I have tried to get rid of it, but it is still popping up everywhere. Here is a list of what I found on a website regarding it. " Mild sedative, Antibacterial, Antiviral, Spasmolytic, Carminative. Antispasmodic Nervousness and insomnia. The herb is used for nervous agitation, sleeping problems and functional gastrointestinal complaints Tannins, Volatile oils (geranial, neral, citronellal, linalool, geraniol, geranylacetate, methyl citronellate, trans-beta-ocimene, germacren, eugenol), Rosmarinic acid , Flavonoids, Triterpenes, Catechins. " If you pull up a search on Lemon Balm, it will give you many sites to read about it.
