Hi everyone

Just thoutht you might be interested to know that I went to Dr.

Hocking at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. I went to him for

second opinion as to my need for weight loss surgery. He felt very

strongly that I needed WLS as soon as possible, but was puzzled when

I said I had reserched his background, and his credentials were very

impressive, but I did not want a RNY. He said then why are you here?

I told that my insurance company had approved me to go to him for

WLS, but I wanted to go to Dr. Rutledge in NC. He said that he had

heard of Dr. Rutledge, but did not know much about the procedure he

did. So I spent the next 30 Minutes telling him all I knew about MGB.

When I finished, he asked me if I was a spokesmen for Dr. Rutledge,

and if not I should be. I told him any exspentant patient of Dr.

Rutledge's could have told him the same thing, it is a requirement of

Dr. Rutledge of surgery. He said he would reccomend to my insurance

company that I be allowed to go to Dr. Rutledge. If they still will

not approve me, I will have him do the RNY, at Shands!

Peace and love always

Rick

By any chance did you discuss the controversy with him. Since he is

willing for you to have the MGB I guess here is Dr. that does not see

the problems other " say " they see. Thanks, , Denver, NC MGB
