Guest guest
The number is the difference between the two diagonal measurement of the head. Think of a big X across the top of the head, and measure the head at those places (front-left to back-right, and front-right to back left). Ideally the measurements would be the same. 11mm is not very small. Our specialist recommends banding at 10mm or less, and many doctors hand at lower numbers. Also consider that this is a two dimensional measurement, but the head is 3d - so there is quite a bit of difference in the volume of the head on the flat side. -christine sydney, 2.5 yrs starband grad > > 11 mm is like 1 cm which is very small... but when I look at her head she LOOKS > more like 2 inches off. Guest guest
Thanks. He used calipers like you were saying. he also did a computer scan but didn't tell me what that said. I don't think he wanted to band my kid but too bad. Though I hope the helmut is correct since he struggled so hard to scan it.KimFrom: christineashok <christineashok@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Tue, October 5, 2010 11:35:22 PMSubject: Re: how do they get the measurements?
