Guest guest
I made some cranberry/pear jam with honey. There is natural pectin in cranberries, and it firmed up nicely. Blueberries are the same way. You can make very firm blueberry pie filling just using blueberries, a banana, and a little honey. What if you made a mixed berry jelly, adding strawberries to something that has natural pectin? Re: Veggie Slicer & Eurocusine Yogurt maker > > Can anyone recommend a good food slicer for slicing butternut squash into the french fries or other SCD legal veggies? Is a mandoline slicer the best or a food processor? I'm trying to decide what to purchase. > http://www.creativecookware.com/borner_v-slicer.htm I have had this one for 25 years. I paid $19.95 for it at a mall demo so you can see what inflation has done! It is now $60. I also use my Cuisinart Food Processor for slicing squash. Carol F. Guest guest
I have no idea what ratios I used. I just put maybe 1/2 a bag cranberries and two peeled and chopped pears in a pot with enough water to keep it from burning, and let it stew. Then I added a little honey for more sweetness, although I'm sure just adding more pears or maybe some dates or raisins would work just as well. I have made it with cranberries and pineapple, too. Honestly, you really can't mess it up. Just let it cook long enough to get really thick. I think the pears and blueberries would taste great. Let me know how it turns out.
