Subject: Re: Stormy' Stats...Stormy, WOW!!!!

53 pounds in 2 months!!!! Okay, I need to know everythingplease.. how did

you do it?? Did you follow Dr. R's plan exactly for eating? How much

exercise and what kind??? Please tell....Peace and love,Ruqayya in Miami

Pre-op 11/2/00!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I follow Dr R's plan...LOL! I started eating soft foods at about seven

days because I was weak feeling. Just a few bites of eggs smashed up like

you'd feed a baby, and some mashed potatoes, etc. I stayed on soft stuff for

about 14 days, then started eating all kinds of stuff. I am home all day, so

I was pretty much eating all day, taking in a bite or two every thirty

minutes or so. I was determined to eat as much as I could take in because I

know from dieting in the past that my metobilism shuts down when I don't

take in enough. I kept a record of my calories for a couple of weeks because

I felt like I was eating way too much, and found that even when I would have

a day where I truely stuffed myself, I was only taking in a max of 1400

calories. My calories averaged from 600 to 1400 calories a day. Now that

some time has passed, I find that I don't really think about food much. It

is so strange going through Mc's(my x favorite eating place in the

world) and ordering a bottle of spring water because nothing else looks

good. I did buy a fish sandwich there yesterday, because I REALLY wanted

one, but I came home and put it on the counter and finally asked my husband

to eat it. I can't count the times that I have gone through a fast food

place(been out of town for the last few weekends)and bought something only

to throw the whole thing out without taking a bite because I just did not

want it. When that happens, I just stop at the grocery store and pick up

some fruit of some kind. I wish you could all understand that I

was(pre-mgb)the BIGGEST fast food junky in the world!

Now I'm sitting here eating spinich. I have been sort of obsessed with food

today and have baked a cake and took two bites. Made some funnel cakes for

my son(I have a great, easy recipe if anyone wants it)and did not take one

bite, and fixed some popcorn thinking that I wanted it(I did eat a handful).

I ate a two sausage patties cooked on my grill for breakfast this

morning. About lunch, I had 1/2 chicken breast(I buy the frozen marinated

one's from Sam's and cook one on the grill when I feel like it)and a

cup of almond fried rice. I had the spinich and popcorn for supper, but will

take some protien of some sort in before I go to bed. That's it for the day

and I feel like I have been eating all day. It's too hard to imagine for

pre-ops. I don't know how to describe the freedom that this surgery has

given me. I am in control for the first time in my life. It is not like a

diet at all. You'll just have to get to post-op status to understand. I am

not exercising at all other than an occassional walk. I want to get on a

formal plan, but just have not committed myself to that yet. Hope this LONG

post answers your questions. I admire those of you who are going to stick to

the plan.

Stormy MGB 8/11/00 Down 53 pounds!!!
