Guest guest
Hi yall, I have been trying to catch up a little on reading your posts, but I was stopped in my tracks by deedee's. It sounds so familiar to our story with my son Cameron. There was one reply (I forget who from<sorry>) regarding demerol. Our experience in Ft. Worth has been that they rotate demerol and morphine every 2 days for pain while Cameron is in the hospital. Once, 2 years ago, they forgot to rotate it and Cam was left on the demerol for 4 days. He developed the seizures and has resulting heart issues from their little screw-up. Now, when he is hospitalized, they only use morphine. I am at my wit's end on handling his chronic pain (but not necessarily daily) because of the ongoing assault by dr's and specialists " concerned " for his continuing drug use. (He takes darvocet most often.) I say, relieve his pain.....and we'll GLADLY drop the demerol, darvocet, morphine and everything else! I will post later..........but wanted to let deedee know there ARE answers, but they are difficult to find sometimes. Donna in Ft. Worth, TX
