Guest guest
Hi! My name is Cheryl. I live in NC approximately 90 miles southeast of Durham. I am 47, female and AA. I have been lurking on the site now for about a month. I've been waiting to join in the conversation until I thought there was some possibility that this could happen for me. I was extremely nervous that my PCP would give a thumbs down. I saw her yesterday and she was very supportive. In fact, it turns out that she had some association with Dr.R in med school. She has two other patients that have had the surgery. Both have had wonderful results and no complications. Wow, with that hurdle over, I can start the process. I've had my insurance letter for about three weeks, but I didn't want to send it until I knew about my PCP. So, insurance letter goes out today! I have a question about the lab work. Since the labs and EKG have to be less than 30 days old, can you send your packet with the physical and no labs? Anyway, I have really enjoyed " spying " on this group and look forward to getting to know some you along the way. Cheryl in NC
Guest guest
Welcome Cheryl, Yes the physical must be in the packet.. Also go ahead and have a pap done to send with it. If when they do the physical they do any tests, I sent them.. I will have to take my new ekg and cbc when I go to clinic b/c it needed to be in the 30 day time frame. Anything you can get done before, do it.. Start on your letter. Also,go ahead and ask either husband or close family to start support lettter. You also should start getting your contacts... so much, I know.. It really is not bad, and once you are done you will feel good that you have done the research.. Good luck,
