Guest guest
Hi Patty, When I went to the hospital no-one photocopied my driver's license...but then that could be my fault as I didn't have it with me. I never needed it before for doctor's appointments and never thought that I would need it there. I try not to carry it with me unless I think I really need it - it has been years since I was ever carded and that is the only time I have ever needed it in the past. As far as if the clinic that my impersonator went to......we are still waiting to hear back from them. I am thinking that if they verify that they have " my " chart on file I am going to request a copy of it (seeing that it is in my name) and hope that there are some very different physical attributes which will make it easy to refute her claim that she is me. It has the potential to be a very big mess........But I am still remaining cautiously optimistic that it is just one big clerical error. If not, you better believe University Hospital in Indianapolis will be hearing from me.....as well as a bunch of law enforcement investigators I would imagine (HIPPA violation as well as the whole fraud thing). Especially if their registration clerks are selling information to the un-insured...........(which is one hypothesis that has been postulated......). I will very much regret ever going to that hospital if it ends up that this is where the problem originated from. Unfortunately there are too many coincidences that points the finger at them......
