Heidi,

You wrote, " [Re: Oprah] Apparently she has been contacted in the past, along

other talk show hosts, and no one has ever shown any interest in it. There

just aren't that many of us, to be of general public interest. "

The key is to do that exact thing, find something that would be of public

interest. We know it certainly isn't pancreatitis, though people I describe the

illness to are fascinated by the gruesome thought of being eaten alive. But,

seriously, we probably need to think along the lines of chronic illness or

chronic pain issues. Montel did a series of shows recently on chronic pain,

with a particular focus on the use of medicinal marijuana and the changing

legislation. Montel has MS and also uses marijuana to control his pain, so this

is a topic near and dear to him. We should surf through the talk show websites

and see if they list the topics that are coming up. If there is something

that relates to our issues we could begin a letter writing campaign targeted to

that show.

Another idea I had for those who wanted to participate, would be to publish

our stories that are already written and posted at

(http://pancassociation.org/storieshome.html) (Nothing

would be used without written permission, of course.) This could be easily

through our gift shop at Cafe Press. They have a print on demand publishing

capability. All we have to do is send them the stories in PDF format and an

actual

book would be available for purchase in two days. The books can be printed

in hardback or paperback. I know we have talked about this for years, but this

service just recently became available. Tull has the professional PDF

conversion software and said he would be willing to handle that.

When I watch talk show guests, it seems like this is what really gets people

an invitation.

Anyone interested?

Keeping you in thought & prayer,
