Guest guest
, You wrote, " Does it have to be your G.I. or can my Internist test the Lipase, Protease & Amylase? " That is a good question. Any physician can order whatever labwork they choose. It may be that if your PCP handles their own labwork they may only be equipped to do certain tests. However, today, most doctors send out their labs to someone else. The other thing is that your PCP can write the labwork on a script and you can have it done where ever you want. I have all my lab done at IU hospital. The purpose of this is so everyone has access to the results at any time. No one has to request it from anyone else.
