Guest guest
Hey guys, Just wanted to give a 3 month update. I had my MGB 7-19-00 and as of Oct 19 I have lost 60lbs and a lot of inches. I am also a RN working in Recovery Room & ER. I have had an uneventful recovery from my MGB. I had a lap chole( gallbladder removal) 4-19-00 and had more pain from that than my MGB. I have thrown up 4 or 5 times but every time my stomach warned me. As I read over the list I still remember my excitement when I got insurance approval and finally a date. I am happy to be a contact for anyone just e-mail me privately. Enjoy the companions you meet on the list. Several people that had the MGB with me don't post to the lists anymore but we keep in touch privately. After surgery it seems we get so busy moving on with our life with this new tool we have been given to become healthy. I encourage people to research this surgery and use your own mind to decide what is best for you. It has to be your decision and no one elses. I had been contemplating the MGB for 18months before I decided to go ahead. I have one of the original manuals. I can't say enough good about Dr. Rutledge and his concern for his patients and I am not a " moonie " . I have worked with surgeons for 14 years and know how some can be. I used my resources to check out Dr. Rutledge and feel confident with my choice. I met with a gastroenterologist last week who is also a friend of mine and discussed the subject of bile reflux and he answered my questions and thinks this was a great choice for me. Sorry to ramble on but I remember being pre-op not to long ago and how encouraging it was to me to see post ops stories. Have a great week. Kim Godfrey FHPGunny1@...
